Lizard King

In class there was a lesson on patterns. Similar to “Jimi FingerPrint.” I finished the main project and had extra time to make another project. Usually doing people I found a black and white picture of Jim Morrison I liked. The Way this canvas is created is very interesting. I got my hands on a wooden frame. My art teacher from high school. He had the idea or tearing pieces of canvas in strips. Cutting a lot of canvas into strips he showed me how to weave the strips.

I created a canvas out of canvas. How interesting. Look closely and you see small squares. A section where it is probably weaved.

Those are the weaved parts The hair pattern and color were all random and off thought as if I knew that pattern was supposed to be placed there. His facial structure is very sharp as you can see. The background was strokes of thick red paint.

– “Expose yourself to your deepest fear; after that, fear has no power, and the fear of freedom shrinks and vanishes. You are free.” Jim Morrison
