As an artist, I believe the way you create a piece of art is never incorrect. But always undefined, there is never a mistake. Yes you might not like what you put there, but it doesn’t mean it’s wrong.
If you were to show everyone what you have right now, there would be multiple responses and thoughts. Nothing is perfect in art and simply in this world. Nothing will be perfect or ever will be perfect. Without mistakes you would never learn.
When you “mess” up on your piece of art, you have only created a new piece. One you don’t agree with but many others would. So don’t always go for being perfect because don’t expect the best end result. Like I said, this goes for art and in the “real world”.
Planning the future right there, don’t mistake yourself and lie. Just create as you go. Sometimes just doing things at the moment is easier than planning a million things out. For example, my art, I could sit here all day think what to create. Or just get a piece of paper/canvas and just force myself to begin, see what happens. Possibly the best thing in the world.
I’ve created some of my best pieces of art on “accident” I didn’t even think about it. It was just created, I don’t know how I made it. It just happened. Maybe you should try it sometime.
This quote applies to art and everything else in this world, we will never be perfect, but all we can do is attempt. Not all of our eyes see the same.
Interesting and thought provoking, Brandon. We can apply the idea to writing, or many things in life, as you say.

Thank you! Yes this rule applies for everything if you think about it. Yes it can be abused in a way. Just be logical. Glad you enjoyed the quote!

When I was subbing for art, the kids would always say “I messed up” and I’d be like “There are no mistakes in art…art is all about ‘messing up’–because art is supposed to be fun not perfect!”

That’s a perfect answer. Shows the kids that they don’t have to be perfect either. Life is art. Perfection is impossible. Glad you could relate to this!

Very well said, and couldn’t agree more. Focus less on results, but the process and see what happens, even if it wasn’t intended 🙂

You just have to trust everything will work, without even trying you will never know. Thanks!

You’re right and definitely can apply to life too. I wish my sons elementary school art teacher could have understood that 😊

Thanks, some people just can’t apply certain things.

It’s true, if we let it flow naturally it can turn unexpectedly fine.

great post! a music teacher told me that a wrong note is never played, so long at the one that follows it is thoughtful 🙂

Thanks, yeah your music teacher was correct. Maybe create your own music instead of following everyone else.

No guessing required – I simply don’t know the person’s name.
